Every month, powered by the Wheels of Hope Donation Fund, we select one deserving pet to receive a brand-new wheelchair—completely free. We believe every story deserves to be heard, and every pet deserves the chance to run, play, and rediscover joy. Share your journey with us, and let our community rally behind you.

Luna came to us as a stray puppy with severe hip dysplasia. Despite her challenges, she has the most incredible spirit—always wagging her tail, giving kisses, and trying to keep up with the other dogs even though walking causes her pain.
She's been with us at the rescue for 9 months now. Every family that meets her falls in love with her gentle personality, but when they see how she struggles to walk, they hesitate. "We can't afford the medical costs," they say. "It's too much responsibility." We understand, but Luna deserves a chance at a real home.
As a small, volunteer-run rescue, we don't have the budget for a wheelchair. But we've seen how much difference it makes—one of our previous dogs found a home within days of getting wheels. With a wheelchair, Luna could run at adoption events, show potential families how happy and mobile she can be, and prove that "special needs" just means "extra love."
Luna has so much love to give. A wheelchair wouldn't just change her life—it would help her find the forever family she's been waiting for. Every dog deserves that chance.

Bella has been my constant companion for 12 years, through my husband's passing and my own health challenges. Watching her back legs fail has been heartbreaking. She still has so much spirit—her tail wags every morning when I wake up, and she tries so hard to follow me around our small apartment.
As a retired teacher on a fixed income, I've had to make difficult choices. Between my medications and Bella's vet bills, a $500 wheelchair simply isn't possible right now. But seeing her struggle to stand, the confusion in her eyes when her legs won't cooperate—it breaks my heart every single day.
Bella deserves to feel the sunshine on her face during our garden walks again. She deserves to greet me at the door standing tall, not dragging herself across the floor. I have a 12 yr old English Lab that has severe hip dysplasia. He has been our loyal companion for over a decade. Unfortunately, time and severe hip dysplasia have taken a toll on him, and his mobility has become very limited. Watching him struggle to stand or take even a few steps has been heartbreaking. He still has the same bright eyes and the same desire to be part of our daily life, but his body simply can’t keep up anymore. He wants so badly to walk & play again. A wheelchair would give him the chance to do those small, joyful things again. I have tried everything to keep him comfortable—veterinary care, medications, supportive harnesses/braces with no success. A wheelchair would not only support his body, but also restore a piece of his spirit. It would allow him to move with dignity, explore his surroundings, and enjoy whatever time he has left with freedom rather than frustration.
I want to make his final years as joyful and comfortable as possible.

About Rocky:

Rocky is only 4 years old. One morning he was racing around our backyard chasing squirrels, and by evening he couldn't move his back legs. The emergency vet said IVDD—a herniated disc pressing on his spine. Surgery might help, but the cost was $8,000 we simply don't have. We have two young kids and my wife just lost her job.
We've been doing physical therapy at home, and Rocky has made some progress, but he can't walk on his own. The hardest part is seeing the frustration in his eyes. He's so young, so full of life, and he desperately wants to play with our kids again. They cry asking why Rocky can't run with them anymore.
I've spent weeks researching wheelchairs, watching videos of dogs learning to use them, reading every forum post I could find. I know Rocky could adapt—he's smart and determined. A wheelchair would give him his independence back and let him be part of our family again, not just watching from the sidelines. Our kids need to see that challenges can be overcome, and Rocky needs to feel like himself again.

Can I apply for both programs at the same time?

Absolutely! You can apply for our New Wheelchair Donation Program while also browsing pre-loved options. Many families do both to maximize their chances of finding a solution quickly.
How do you select recipients?

We carefully review every application based on several factors: the pet's medical need, the family's situation, the impact a wheelchair would have, and the completeness of the application. Every story is read with care and compassion. Selection is not first-come-first-served—we aim to help where we can make the biggest difference.
How often do you donate wheelchairs?

Our donation cycles are announced as they become available. It might be monthly, quarterly, or based on our inventory and funding. The best way to stay informed is to subscribe to our mailing list or check this page regularly.
Can I apply if I live outside the US?

Currently, our New Wheelchair Donation Program & Pre-Loved Matching Program are limited to families within the United States due to shipping logistics and costs.
What if I don't get selected this time?

Not being selected doesn't mean your story didn't touch us—we simply can only choose one recipient per cycle. Your application will remain active and will automatically be considered for the next donation cycle. You don't need to reapply unless your pet's information has changed significantly.
Who pays for shipping?

That's determined between the donor and recipient. Some donors cover shipping costs, some ask recipients to pay, and others prefer local pickup only. Each listing will specify the donor's preferences. We encourage open communication to find what works for both parties.

For New Wheelchair Donation Program, we will cover the shipping costs.
